Fulcrum Group appoints David Tong as Director – HV to strengthen High Voltage capability across its specialist businesses

Fulcrum Group, a leading multi-utility infrastructure and services provider, has appointed senior infrastructure leader David Tong as Director – HV, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening its High Voltage capability across its specialist businesses, Dunamis and Maintech Power.

David brings more than 35 years’ experience across infrastructure, spanning highways, rail and, for the past 17 years, the power sector, working across distribution, transmission and private networks.

In his new role, David will work across Dunamis and Maintech Power, supporting the continued development of both businesses whilst enhancing the strong working relationship already in place between them. His appointment reflects Fulcrum Group’s strategic focus on building on the long-standing collaboration between its specialist divisions and unlocking new opportunities for growth.

Fulcrum Group operates nationally with its head office in Sheffield and has more than 60 years’ experience in utility infrastructure.

Through its specialist brands, the Group delivers end-to-end solutions spanning feasibility, design, construction, commissioning and long-term maintenance.

Dunamis is a leading Independent Connection Provider (ICP) specialising in the design and delivery of High Voltage grid connections and networks up to 132kV, while Maintech Power is a High Voltage specialist providing installation, testing and maintenance services to more than 400 clients across the UK.

Throughout his career, David has held senior roles with organisations including Morrison Utility Services, Morgan Sindall and Amey, working with major clients such as National Grid, SSE and Scottish Power. He has also led his own business in the ICP sector and most recently served as UK Country Manager for a European organisation, where he was responsible for developing a new power infrastructure strategy and building a significant project pipeline.
